Meet the Artist- Pamela Vosseller
Pamela Vosseller is a mixed media artist whose art journey led her to the Oregon Coast where she lives with her husband and cat, Nacho. She is an internationally known watercolorist for over 20 years with an art background starting in graphite and pastels. But in 2015, Pamela started exploring mixed media art; she loves adding just about everything to her creations.
Her diversity in combining mixed medium with altered arts has awarded her creations being published in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine and the Denali Literary and Arts magazine. Although Pamela focuses on portraiture and the human form, she enjoys creating whimsical animals, florals, and seascapes.
In 2017, Pamela returned to teaching, utilizing her art website at pamelascolors.com to offer online art classes where students can learn to paint using acrylics, collage, graphite, charcoal, and of course mixed medium. Her passion to learn and teach others that they can create is reinforced by her belief that if we try to accept our inner critic as a friend, we can push forward believing we are an artist. She tells her students, “If we don’t try, we will never know what we might have missed.”
What does it mean Art is Magic to me?
It means a connection of my creative soul with another.
What is it about art that stirs my soul?
There is a stirring through storytelling, exploring, and experimenting. I feel complete when I’ve captured the viewer by igniting their senses.
What creative walls do I hit?
After creating for over 30 years, I still struggle with doubt; hearing that inner voice that says I’m not good enough.
What do I do to move through those walls?
I find creative peace to move through those creative blocks by allowing myself to play again.
