Meet the Artist- Consie Sindet
Consie Sindet is Creativity Coach and Teacher. She believes that we should always be learning, growing, trying, failing and embracing the process. She's been teaching creativity in many forms for 15+ years and before online classes were even a thing, she taught in-person art classes to hundreds of women. Consie finds that art journaling is the most freeing way to express herself. She wants us all to know that we can find freedom, playfulness, and joy by slapping down some paint, gluing magazine pages to a piece of paper, adding doodling & marks, finding a quote that screams...'THIS IS HOW I FEEL TODAY!"...and calling it good enough.

What does Art is Magic mean to you?
Art has the ability to change our moods, bring us joy and delight, show us what our subconscious is noodling on. It brings with it a sense of play and wonder along with frustration, curiosity and even sometimes a sense of failure. It is such a great example of both/and. The magic can be found in embracing all of that and staying present in the process.
Why do you create art?
I create because I can’t not create! My body, mind, heart, soul crave it, seek it out. I create because creativity is a bone deep part of who I am. I’ve tried to quit being creative and all that happened was that I switched up how I made the art. Now I just allow it to flow through me in whatever way it needs to.
What does your creative Practice look like?
I use the word Daily-ish when it comes to my creative practice. I think about art all the time but I don’t actually make art every day. Some days are about planning. Some days are about gathering supplies, inspiration, ideas. And, some days are about putting those supplies and plans into my art journal. I’ve also discovered that I like to create to share and to teach others. It is what feeds my creative practice.
What do you wish you had known at the beginning of your creative journey?
That is would be a slow, winding, interesting, frustrating, delightful journey and to be grateful for all of it!
