Meet the Artist - Michelle Mann

Michelle Mann is a mixed media artist and illustrator whose vibrant, joyful and whimsical work is inspired by nature, spirituality and a colourful imagination.

Based in Australia, Michelle’s work combines the playful spontaneity of mark-making with the expressive depth of acrylic, oil paint and cold wax medium. Her process incorporates water-soluble pencils, crayons, oil sticks, and handmade collage elements, such as lino prints and mono prints, to create dynamic layers of texture and movement. By experimenting with different mediums and techniques, Michelle continually pushes the boundaries of traditional painting, allowing her art to evolve organically with each piece.

Michelle’s creative practice is a deeply personal exploration of the intersection between painting, writing, and spirituality. Whether abstract or figurative, Michelle’s art often delves into themes of personal growth, transformation, and connection to the universe, weaving together elements of her own life experiences and spiritual journey.

Michelle’s work is held by collectors both nationally and internationally.

Michelle has been exhibiting since 2016 in galleries in Southeast Queensland, Melbourne and Sydney. In 2024, she was named a finalist for the Noosa Art Prize, further cementing her reputation as an artist who speaks from the heart and soul.

Most days you will find Michelle playing in her studio with her loyal companion Bentley.
