This mixed media workshop will explores art journaling your travels- from mixed media, water colour, writing, photography and most importantly experiencing and integrating your adventures and your life.
A journey to a new place or a journey across the journal page will both take you on a pilgrimage to the center of your own heart, to an understanding of your own truths, journeying simultaneously through the outer world and deep within the inner world. Journaling and traveling are both journeys on which, if you are receptive, you can create a deeper connection with yourself and your unique conversation with life. A Travel {Art} Journal is a container for the conversations you are having with your adventures and with life and create life long touchstones for your memories. This workshop explores some of the many ways that an art journal and travel experiences can intersect.
The Format:
This workshop is divided up into 3 sections- Anticipation (1 week), The Journey (4 weeks), Integration over six weeks. Within these sections are several lessons.
☆ Anticipation (1 week)- preparation, journals, practice, supplies.
☆ The Journey (4 weeks)- Including gathering inspiration, photography, writing, sketching, stealing like an artist, ephemera and various demo spreads (this module runs for 4 weeks)
☆ Integration- bringing it altogether, reflections, binding, making covers.
.☆ Created over several years (Paris, Venice, London, Thailand, Bali, NY, NOLA, Norway)
☆ Lessons delivered via video and support material (text and photo samples).
☆ Over 13 hours of video content (50+ videos)
